The BHS Student Body wrote individual appreciation notes to our very own superheroes, Mr. Coggins and Mrs. Threadgill for Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. AVID students secretly collected notes and surprised their mentors this morning. Mr. Coggins is also our reliable AVID Coordinator while Mrs. Threadgill advocates endlessly for a positive school culture. They are our difference makers.
Morgan Merritt March student athlete of the month. Morgan is a quiet steady leader that always shows up to work on the field, while maintaining a high level of academic success and holds down a part time job. Morgan is an example of steadiness whether we are winning or losing a game. She continues to fight and leaves it all on the field." Head Softball coach Toby Elliott. Sponsored by Yellow Wood Creative

Today, Moorhead is proud to support Leadership Cherokee by meeting with the students and giving them a tour of our facility and discussing what our business does and various opportunities within the industry. We were grateful to spend the time with our friends from the Cherokee County Chamber and Spartanburg Community College! This incredible program is designed for juniors at the high school level from public schools, private schools, homeschools, and charter schools to gain leadership skills and experience local businesses in Cherokee County. Throughout this program, students tour facilities to make connections, learn the process of various jobs, and gain knowledge of what these companies and corporations are, where they’re located, and what they have to offer. Students are required to complete community service projects as well as attend two council meetings, a community event, and a school board meeting within the seven-month program. Leadership Cherokee emphasizes soft skills for employers, filling out applications, building resumes, and more. The sessions revolve around the history of Cherokee County, community service, emergency services, financial stability, life skills, and much more. We are thrilled to be part of this journey and to help shape the future leaders of our community! 🌟 #LeadershipCherokee #CommunitySupport #FutureLeaders #CherokeeCounty #CherokeeCountyChamberofCommerce #Blacksburg #Gaffney #SCC
